Tandy Leather
This is a list of all of Tandy Leahter's locations. If you have one near by they are a great resource for small pieces of leather. They generally have two bins of scrap leather you can buy by the pound and they are usually large enough to make shoes out of. They also sell online.
Leather Unlimited
Leather pieces for $1-$2 a pound sold in 5 pound increments.

Denver Fabrics
I debated listing this company because I was so not happy with what I bought from them. But in case you stumble across them on the net here is what you need to be aware of. 1) The scrap bag will only contain 2 or 3 small pieces of leather in it -- nothing like it looks on the internet. Might be okay if you just need to get some variety for appliqués but you don’t even get to choose what is in it. 2) The small hide that I bought was way to thin. I misunderstood the 1-1/2 ounces to be per foot as it is EVERY where else but it actually is the weight of the entire hide. If you order leather from these people please do yourself a favor and take them up on their free swatch offer.
Gabby's Crafts
This is a scrapbooking store that sells 12x12 leather pages pefect for making decorative soft-sole shoes. One piece will make a pair of shoes (excluding the sole and lining) for up to a size 6. See a sample of shoes made from a leather page here.
Hide House
I hosted a coop purchase through this company and was EXTREAMLY upset with my entire transaction. Prior to ordering I had been in contact with the company 4 different times via email to make sure I had all the information I needed to correctly order and get the best deal for my group. The person that answered my emails was very supportive and helpful. To order I had to call in and the sales person I was assigned was rude, impatient, and extremely short with me. My order when I received it had numerous errors. When I called in with the issues I was given back to the same sales person and he treated me even WORSE. Besides shorting me on 6-8 different groups of leather, they sent me the total wrong kind of one, and the footage marked on the leather was extremely in their favor; my 8 foot piece of leather was much closer to 6 feet. Some of the issues were never addressed and even though I wrote in several times asking to speak to a owner or manager I never got to. I know you will come across them if you search the internet, so I listed them. But, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. (NOTE: You will pay 15% more than the listed price unless you are a licensed retailer.)
