Free Directions for Making a Lure Keeper

If you have an avid fisherman/woman in your life this is the perfect gift for them; and you! It’s quick and easy to make and a wonderful addition to any anglers tackle box. Keep those lines from getting tangled up, broken, or snagged by wrapping a Lure-Keeper around the end of your rod and hook.

Items Needed

  • ¼ yard of Nylon
  • ½ a yard of Velcro
  • Sewing Machine
  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. The size of your Lure-Keepers can be adjusted to fit the type of lures your angler uses. The most common size would be a folded up 4x4. To make this size, cut out 2 squares of nylon 9x5 each (one inch longer and wider than the finished keeper will be). In the example shown, I cut out 9x9 squares for slightly longer keepers.
  2. Place right-sides-together and sew around outside edge leaving a small opening of about 1 inch. Clip all four corners.
  3. Turn right side out. Fold in half and cut enough hook side of Velcro to cover edge of entire side. Cut enough loop Velcro for other side. Sew on. Make sure you catch the open seam as you sew on.

To use simply place lure inside of wrap and close wrap around pole and lure.
